This page is to remember the many well loved Welfare Vizslas who are very sadly no longer with us…

BELLA – It’s not very often we’ve been asked to rehome a 15 year old dog, and this girl was a real sweetie. Dear Bella settled into her new home (with one of our repeat adopters) very quickly, and basically just acted as if she’d always been there. She chuntered on happily to within two weeks of her 18th birthday, most of it in very good health. She was a unique old girl, and is sorely missed…

LOKI – This unusual looking but very sweet boy (on the right) waited months to find his perfect home, but once he eventually did, he settled in very quickly. He had several very happy years with his adopters but then sadly developed VIP (Vizsla Inflammatory Polymyositis) age 10. It couldn’t be stabilised, and so they very reluctantly had to say a premature goodbye to him.

VAZ – A very happily Failed Foster who found his forever home with one of our Welfare Officers after nobody else came forward to adopt him. He was a sweetly fretful chap who acted middle-aged well before his time. If he was a human, he’d have dressed in beige and spent his days grumbling about the weather! His favourite place in the world was snuggled up in bed with his humans, ALWAYS under the duvet, and preferably with the electric blanket turned up high too!

KOA – Another Failed Foster who wiggled her way in with one of our Welfare Officers after nobody else came forward to adopt her. She was a wonderfully rude old boot with the most outrageous behaviour: she was a shocking food thief, she was loud and opinionated, she very often showed her utter disgust at the awful standards set by her personal ‘waiting staff’, and she would no doubt have sacked them if she could have done! Koa passed away in 2024 and her devoted followers (long suffering adopters) have since built a memorial shrine beside one of the paths on her favourite walk…
