Jun 2026 – SATCHMO – male, 4yrs, neutered

Satchmo is a Vizsla x wire GSP and is an energetic and fun loving boy. He is fantastic with other dogs – currently living with six others! – and they all seem to love him too. He enjoys long group walks in mixed company, and gets on well with just about everyone. He is crate trained, he travels well in the car, and he is spotlessly clean indoors. We think he would make an excellent hillwalking or mountain biking buddy for an active and outdoorsy person or couple with a generally calm and quiet household..

He isn’t as hairy as he looks in this pic – he has a fluffy head and legs but shorter fur on his body. We were told he had allergies, but since coming to us we’ve seen no sign of them, and suspect they may have been stress-related. (This is fairly common with the dogs we bring in for assessment, and the effects of chronic stress on the body cannot be underestimated.)

Satch does unfortunately have a bite history – while in his previous very stressful living situation he twice lunged at and nipped people who came into his garden – entering uninvited through a double fence and a tall latched gate with a very clear KEEP OUT sign on it – so very definitely mitigating circumstances! No serious injuries occurred and full details will be provided on request. He has NEVER shown any signs of aggression whatsoever towards his own people, or to anyone he’s been properly introduced to. Since coming to us for assessment he has been nothing but friendly with everyone he has met, and we have tested him extensively in a variety of situations. His very responsible previous owners carefully muzzle trained him to keep him safe, and he would be happy to wear a muzzle out on walks until his new person fully trusted him.

Satch would love to live with another well mannered dog or bitch, subject to an adopter understanding how to introduce a new pack member and manage a multi-dog household.

Satch is currently living in Scotland, he can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet him.

Please contact Noanie Heffron for more information about Satch, or text/WhatsApp 07999020888.

N.B. Due to Satch’s history, we will not place him in a home with children under 18, or with visiting children. This is more for his own mental wellbeing than anything else – he previously lived in the grounds of a large school and the noise and busy-ness of children milling around every day meant he was constantly unsettled.

Jun 2026 – LOTTIE – female, 7yrs, spayed

Lottie is a much loved lady who needs a new home because her elderly owner is moving onto a new stage of life and sadly can’t take Lottie with her. She’s a French registered wire-hair Vizsla born in July 2018, she is cuddly, playful, okay around children, and travels well in the car.

Like many wires, she has some environmental allergies. Her ears need regular attention to keep them clean and healthy, and she has regular medication to help with this. If required, the costs of medical treatment relating to her ears can be covered by the Charity on an ongoing basis, so her adopters won’t need to worry about large vet bills!

Lottie is fine with the majority of dogs but occasionally reacts to a pushy dog if they get right in her face (and who could blame her for this!!) She is not aggressive in any way though. She could probably live very happily with another well mannered dog or bitch, subject to an adopter understanding how to manage a multi-dog household and how to successfully introduce a new member.

Lottie is currently living in East Yorkshire, she can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet her.

Please contact Sue Aldous for more information about Lottie.

Jun 2026 – ROCKY – male, 7yrs, intact

Rocky is a lovely big boy who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He has a very kind affectionate nature, he is very human friendly, he travels well in the car, he is spotlessly clean indoors, and he gets on well with other dogs. He does have mild separation anxiety, however this is improving all the time with patience and routine.

He is generally well behaved and very easy to live with, he enjoys being off-lead and has good recall, but his lead manners are still a work in progress and he would definitely benefit from a bit more work in this regard, however he responds well to training and is eager to please, so not a difficult job for a sensible adopter.

Rocky is currently living with other dogs, and could easily be rehomed to a household with another well mannered dog or bitch, subject to an adopter understanding how to manage a multi-dog household and how to successfully introduce a new member.

Rocky is currently living in the North East of England, he can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet him.

Please contact Sue Aldous for more information about Rocky.

UPDATE: MAY 2026

Harvey is now in foster with one of our Welfare Officers, and will be staying where he is for a few months in order to get his medication requirements fine-tuned, and his epilepsy hopefully fully stabilised and well under control.

May 2026 – HARVEY – male, 4yrs, intact – **EPILEPTIC**

Harvey is a young-ish dog who is looking for a very special home where his specific medical needs will be understood and prioritised. Harvey was diagnosed with epilepsy aged 1, and takes twice daily medication for this, but still has a seizure every few weeks. His seizures generally last a few minutes, he lies on his side while he is seizing, and after a short recovery period he is back to his normal happy self. (He is currently under the care of a veterinary specialist, and with adjustments in medication it may be possible for the frequency of his seizures to be further reduced.)

Harvey is a much loved and well cared for boy, and is only being rehomed due to very sad and sudden unexpected family circumstances. We are looking for people who are going to be able to give him the time and attention he deserves, and a home where he won’t be left alone for too long each day, although he CAN be left alone for short periods if needed. Someone with experience of living with an epileptic dog would be useful but not essential – as long as you are willing to stay with him and support him during seizures.

Harvey is VERY friendly, he likes to be close to his people, and he loves snuggling up for a cuddle. He is currently living with other dogs and gets on well with most dogs he meets. He doesn’t have quite as much energy as a typical Vizsla, but he still enjoys a couple of hours of offlead exercise every day. He is very food oriented (great for training!), he has good recall, and is generally just a lovely big soft lump of a dog.

Harvey’s new people will not be expected to shoulder any costs relating to his epilepsy, as Vizsla Welfare will pay for any and all investigations and treatments required, for the rest of his life.

Harvey is currently living with one of our Welfare Officers in west central Scotland, and ideally we are looking for a long-term permanent foster placement for him in the same area, so Harvey can remain under the care of his current vet and with ongoing access to in-person Charity support, including experienced ‘medical home boarding’ if required.

Please contact Noanie Heffron for more information about Harvey.

**ADOPTION IN PROGRESS** – HUNTER – male, 6yrs, intact

Hunter is a soft friendly lad, very easy to live with and a real ‘people pleaser’. He loves his walks and training sessions, but also settles well after exercise. His basic obedience is good, and after some additional training input during his time in foster, his recall is now much improved too. He is good with children and dogs – he’s currently living with three other dogs including another intact male, and they’re all getting along very nicely.

Hunter came to us with serious ear issues and is receiving ongoing treatment for this. If medication and cleaning alone won’t fix the issue, he may eventually require surgery. He will need continuing vet treatment and ongoing care until his ear problems are fully resolved, however he is very cooperative with ear cleaning, very well mannered at the vets, and the costs of all medical treatment relating to his ears will be covered by the Charity for the rest of his life, so his adopters won’t need to worry about large vet bills!

Hunter could live very happily with another well mannered dog or bitch, subject to an adopter understanding how to manage a multi-dog household and how to successfully introduce a new pack member. He could also live very happily with older (12+) dog-savvy children.

Hunter is currently living in Lancashire, he can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet him.

Please contact Sarah Semmens for more information about Hunter.

**NOW ADOPTED** – CODY – male, 4yrs, neutered

Cody is an energetic boy who has been in our care for behavioural assessment and training and is now ready to move on to his forever home. He is fit and healthy, friendly without being too ‘needy’, gets on well with other well mannered dogs (in a nicely appropriate non-annoying way), he loves running and exploring offlead, he has excellent recall, and he’s looking for active outdoorsy adopters who can meet his exercise and continued training needs.

Cody could live very happily with another well mannered dog or bitch, subject to an adopter understanding how to manage a multi-dog household and how to successfully introduce a new pack member. He is crate trained and sleeps happily in his crate overnight. He is also good in the car and travels well, albeit with a bit of excited barking on reaching a destination! He is incredibly athletic (even for a Vizsla!) and deserves adopters who will properly ‘work’ him, whether that’s trail running, mountain biking, canicross, agility, or preferably all of the above!

Cody is currently living in Scotland, he can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet him.

Please contact Noanie Heffron for more information about Cody, or text/WhatsApp 07999 020 888.

**Cody came into our care after a number of snapping incidents towards his owners, these were not serious and no injury ever occurred, but for this reason we will not place him in a home with children under 18. He has been extensively assessed by our behaviourists in a residential environment and we are confident that he is basically a normal friendly dog whose needs were previously not being fully met**

**NOW ADOPTED** – BABS & JESSIE – females, 10yrs, intact

Babs and Jessie are a delightful pair of senior ladies who have always lived together, and we are rehoming them as a pair. They are both friendly, well trained, generally very nicely mannered, and good with other dogs. Despite their advancing years they are both fit and healthy, still young-at-heart, and enjoying long offlead walks every day. They are looking for adopters who are going to be at home most of the time, are able to give them the amount of exercise they still want and need, but will understand that as older dogs they are very used to their ‘home comforts’ too.

Jessie can be a wee bit nervous around new people or dogs but usually warms to them after 15-20 minutes and is then absolutely fine. Both dogs are behaviourally very normal and we would be happy to rehome them to a household with older children who have previously lived with Vizslas or other similar breeds.

Babs and Jessie are currently living in the Cheshire area, they can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet them.

Please contact Lucy Seamons for more information about this lovely pair.

**NOW ADOPTED** – HARRY – male, 1.5yrs, neutered

Harry is a lovely young lad who has been in our care for behavioural assessment and training and is now ready to move on to his new forever home. He is very fit and healthy, very friendly and human-focused, he gets on really well with other dogs (in a nicely appropriate non-annoying non-confrontational way), he loves running and exploring offlead, he has excellent recall, and he’s looking for adopters who are very active and outdoorsy, so he can continue to go hillwalking and trail running.

He’s still young, so of course his training and manners are very much an ongoing ‘work in progress’ rather than a finished job. Any prospective adopter must understand the need for clear house rules and firm boundaries to keep him on the straight and narrow, as (like most Vizslas!) he does have the potential to become demanding and clingy if given too much freedom too soon.

Harry could easily live with another dog (or dogs), subject to an adopter understanding how to manage a multi-dog household and how to successfully introduce a new pack member.

Harry is currently living in Scotland, he can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet him.

Please contact Noanie Heffron for more information about Harry, or text/WhatsApp 07999 020 888

**Harry did have a couple of minor nipping incidents with grandchildren in his previous home, these were not serious and no injury occurred, but for this reason we are looking for a child-free home for him. He has been extensively assessed by our behaviourists in a residential environment and we are confident that he is basically a friendly boy whose needs were previously just not being met.**

**NOW ADOPTED** – FROGGY – male, 10yrs, neutered

Froggy is a Vizsla x Weimaraner and although he’s a senior gent, he’s still very fit and active. He’s a well loved and well cared for boy, but unfortunately he isn’t comfortable around young children, and after a nipping incident with their toddler (no serious injury occurred), his family have decided for everyone’s safety and long-term wellbeing, he would be much happier in a home without children. Apart from this one incident he is generally a well-behaved, loving and affectionate old boy.

Froggy is currently living with a similar age bitch and may suit a household with a mature bitch, but he’s likely to be just as happy as an only dog. He is generally quite ‘dog selective’ – he doesn’t tend to instantly take to dogs he doesn’t know, but with a sensible calm introduction he can and does get on with other well mannered dogs. He’d get on really well with fit and active people who won’t just see him as an old couch potato – he still enjoys his long walks and loves to run offlead and properly stretch his legs!

Froggy is currently living in Scotland, he can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet him.

N.B. Due to his recent nipping incident, Froggy will not be placed in a home with under 18s.

Please contact Noanie Heffron for more information about Froggy, or text/WhatsApp 07999 020 888.

**NOW ADOPTED** – BUDDY – male, 1.5yrs, neutered

Buddy is a friendly and energetic young lad who is looking for a new home through no fault of his own. He comes from a loving and caring family, but the arrival of a new baby has meant that recently his needs have taken a bit of a back seat, and as a result his obedience and general recall has regressed, and he’s developed some reactivity to other dogs when out and about on walks. Nothing too serious, and a confident and experienced adopter should be able to get him back on the right track fairly easily just with more exercise, a ‘back to basics’ approach to his training, and regular opportunities to meet and mingle with other dogs on carefully structured group walks.

Buddy is a fit and healthy boy, very friendly and human-focused (like most Vizslas!), he loves long rambling hikes, he enjoys training sessions, and we’re keen to find him active outdoorsy adopters who are looking for a young dog to bring on and ‘shape’ into an adventure companion.

Buddy could probably live very happily with an older well balanced dog or bitch, subject to an adopter understanding how to manage a multi-dog household and how to successfully introduce a new pack member.

Buddy is currently living in Sussex, he can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet him.

Please contact Sue Aldous for more information about Buddy.

**NOW ADOPTED** – MAYA – female, 5yrs, intact

Maya is a friendly, loving, and behaviourally normal girl who is looking for a new home through no fault of her own. She has previously lived with children and cats with no issues, and a home with older (12+ ) children might suit her well. She is currently living with two other dogs and gets on very well with them. She loves long offlead walks, she enjoys training games, and she loves to snuggle up with her humans. Basically she is just a very nice dog.

She can be a little bit clingy and whiny in new environments, but this will be easily overcome by any sensible adopter who understands the value of calmness, steadiness, and who is willing to give her a very quiet routine for the first week or two in her new home.

Maya will require to be spayed in due course, but our vet has recommended she have another season first, as we’re not sure when her last one was. For that reason, she can’t be rehomed with an intact male. Apart from that, she would love to live with another dog or dogs.

Maya is currently living in Leeds, she can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet her.

Please contact Yvonne Taylor for more information about Maya.

**NOW ADOPTED** – HENRY – male, 10mths, intact

Henry is a lovely young boy – he’s friendly, happy, healthy, and basically just a typical exuberant bouncy adolescent Vizsla. And like most of the young dogs who come to us for rehoming, he’s in need of a bit more training, a bit more mental stimulation, and lots of daily exercise. We are looking for active outdoorsy adopters who will be around most of the day and who have enough time and experience to meet Henry’s ongoing training needs.

Henry is currently living with a family who have a young child, with no issues other than being a bit too excitable and jumpy, so we would consider placing him in a household with children age 12+ who are used to Vizslas (or other large working breed dogs). Henry basically needs routine, calm firm leadership, and ongoing training – and with those we are confident he will develop into a well rounded adult dog.

Henry is currently living in Cheshire, he can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet him.

Please contact Kirsten Lorrain-Smith for more information about Henry.

**NOW ADOPTED** – MAX (6yrs) and MILLY (4.5yrs), both neutered

Max and Milly are a delightful pair who are looking for a new home together following a relationship split. They are both fit and healthy, well looked after and much loved, very used to children, and great ‘family’ pet dogs. This is a very reluctant rehome but their caring owner is determined to do the best thing for them. They are easy dogs to live with, and they walk nicely on the lead, though they also love off-lead exercise and running around with each other.

We are looking for adopters who are going to be able to give them the time and attention they deserve, and a home where they won’t be left alone for too long each day. Ideally an active, experienced retired couple would be perfect, and we will also consider adopters with older (10+) dog savvy kids.

Max and Milly are currently living in the West Country, they can be rehomed to anywhere in the UK, but prospective adopters should be willing to travel to meet them.

Please contact Sue Aldous for more information about this lovely pair.
